Flag Quiz: Name the Country
FlagMasterV shows you a national flag and asks which country it belongs to, with 185 countries in the bank and six regional modes. The wrong options are drawn from the same region, which makes it considerably harder than it sounds.
How to play FlagMasterV
- Choose a mode: the whole world, or one continent.
- A flag appears with four country names below it.
- Pick the right country within twelve seconds.
- Twelve flags make a round.
- Your result is shown with the flags you missed.
How scoring works
Each of the twelve flags is worth points that decrease across its twelve second window. The difficulty comes from the distractors: wrong options are always drawn from the same region as the correct answer, so neighbouring countries with similar flags compete directly with each other rather than against something obviously unrelated.
Three ways to score better
- Learn the small distinguishing details — Chad and Romania, or Indonesia and Monaco, differ only in shade or proportion.
- Play one continent at a time first. The regional modes build the local knowledge that the world mode then tests.
- When you do not know, eliminate by region rather than guessing. The options are all neighbours, so geography narrows it faster than the flag does.

Why do the wrong answers look so plausible?
By design. Distractors are drawn from the same region as the correct answer, so you have to know the flag rather than recognise the odd one out.
Do the flags need to download?
No. They are Unicode characters rendered with your own device fonts, so the challenge stays small and works offline.
