How numerology numbers are calculated
Numerology turns your name and date of birth into single-digit numbers (1–9), keeping the special master numbers 11, 22 and 33. Bhagya uses the widely-used Pythagorean system, where letters map to numbers like this: A–I = 1–9, J–R = 1–9, and S–Z = 1–8.
- Life Path number — the most important number. Add every digit of your full date of birth and reduce to a single digit (or master number). It describes your overall journey and purpose.
- Destiny / Expression number — the sum of all letters of your full name, reduced. It points to your natural talents and what you're here to express.
- Soul Urge number — the sum of the vowels in your name, reduced. It reveals your inner desires and what truly motivates you.
- Personality number — the sum of the consonants, reduced. It's the side of you that others see first.
- Birthday number — the day of the month you were born, reduced. It highlights a particular gift you carry.

Based on your Life Path number, Bhagya suggests a lucky number, lucky colour, lucky day and a traditional gemstone. These come from classic numerology associations and are offered as a fun, positive guide.
What is a master number?
When a calculation lands on 11, 22 or 33, numerologists do not reduce it further. These "master numbers" are considered especially powerful — the intuitive (11), the master builder (22) and the master teacher (33).
What is the most important numerology number?
The Life Path number is usually considered the most important. It's calculated from your full date of birth and is said to describe your life's overall direction and lessons.
Should I use my full birth name?
For Destiny, Soul Urge and Personality numbers, traditional numerology uses the full name given at birth. You can also try the name you commonly use to compare the results.
