PDFV

Privacy Policy

How PDFV handles your files. Last updated 12 August 2026.

The short version: your documents never leave your device. PDFV has no server that receives files, so there is nothing for us to store, read, share or lose.

Your documents

Every tool on PDFV runs as JavaScript inside your own web browser. When you choose a PDF or an image, the browser reads that file from your device into the memory of the open tab. The editing — merging, splitting, rotating, converting — happens there, and the finished file is written back to your device using your browser's ordinary download mechanism.

At no point is your file transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no upload endpoint, no queue and no temporary storage. We therefore never see your document's contents, its file name or its metadata, and we could not retrieve it even if we were asked to. Closing or reloading the tab clears everything from memory.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run any tool. You will see the page's own files load, and no request carrying your document.

What we do collect

PDFV does not ask for an account, an email address or a payment method, and it does not set any cookie to identify you. It stores no data about you in your browser.

Like the rest of Apps by V, this page is served from ordinary web hosting, which keeps standard server access logs (IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested and the time). These logs are used to keep the site running and secure. They record that a page was requested; they do not record anything about the files you process, because those files are never sent.

Advertising

PDFV shows ads served by Google AdSense to keep the tools free. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and may collect data as described in their own policies. You can review and adjust this at Google My Ad Center and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Advertising is entirely separate from the PDF tools. Ad scripts have no access to the files you open, which exist only inside the page's own JavaScript memory.

Offline use and installation

PDFV registers a service worker so it can work without a connection. That service worker caches only PDFV's own files — the HTML, stylesheet, scripts and icons. It never caches, copies or transmits your documents. If you install PDFV to your home screen, the same applies.

Third-party libraries

PDFV is built on three well-established open-source libraries: pdf-lib for creating and editing PDFs, PDF.js (from Mozilla) for rendering pages, and JSZip for building ZIP downloads. All three are served from this same domain rather than from an external CDN, so using PDFV does not reveal your visit to any third party beyond the advertising described above.

Children

PDFV is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes to how files are handled would be announced on the main PDFV page as well — though the core commitment, that documents are processed on your device and never uploaded, is the reason this app exists and is not going to change.
