Maze Game
MazeV generates a fresh maze every time and asks you to get from the green corner to the gold star in the opposite one. Every maze is produced by the app itself and always has a valid route.
How to play MazeV
- The maze appears with your marker in the green corner.
- On a desktop, use the arrow keys or WASD. On a phone, swipe on the maze or use the pad below it.
- The clock starts on your first move, not when the maze appears, so you can study it first.
- Reach the gold star in the opposite corner.
- A new maze is generated for the next run.
How scoring works
Your score combines the time from your first move to reaching the star with a penalty for bumps. Walking into a wall costs you points but not time, which means feeling your way through is possible but expensive. Because every maze is generated fresh, times are compared against your own previous runs rather than a fixed layout.
Three ways to score better
- Use the free look before your first move. Tracing the route backwards from the star is usually faster than forwards from the start.
- Follow one wall consistently when you are lost. It is slower than a planned route but always terminates.
- On a phone, short deliberate swipes register more reliably than fast ones and cause fewer bumps.
Common questions
Is every maze solvable?
Yes. The generator guarantees a valid route from the start corner to the star in every maze it produces.
When does the timer start?
On your first move. You can look at the maze for as long as you like beforehand at no cost.
What does bumping into a wall cost?
Points, but not time. It is recorded as a bump and deducted from your score at the end.
