Privacy Policy — OverlayV
Last updated 25 August 2026
OverlayV is a design tool that runs entirely inside your browser. It has no user accounts, no server that receives your work, and no upload endpoint of any kind. This page sets out exactly what that means.
What stays on your device
- Your designs. Every overlay you build is stored in your browser's IndexedDB storage on the device you made it on, under “My Designs”. It is not synced, backed up or copied anywhere.
- Photos you add. A photo you put into an avatar or a canvas background is read directly by your browser using the file reader built into it. The image never leaves your device. It is saved inside the project record in your own browser storage.
- Your settings. Theme, favourite templates, recently used templates, recent colours,
export preferences and whether you have seen the welcome message are stored in your browser's
localStorage, prefixed
overlayv_.
What OverlayV does not do
- It does not upload your designs, your text or your photos.
- It does not ask you to create an account, and it never asks for a password or payment detail.
- It does not read your camera, microphone, contacts, location or clipboard. (It can write an exported PNG to your clipboard, but only when you press “Copy PNG”.)
- It does not record what you type or which templates you use.
Deleting your data
Delete a single design from the “My Designs” screen. To remove everything at once, clear site data for appsbyv.in in your browser settings — that erases every saved design and every preference. Because there is no server copy, this is permanent and cannot be undone by us or by anyone else. If your designs matter to you, export the PNGs you need before clearing site data.
Things loaded from other companies
OverlayV itself sends nothing about you anywhere. Three things on the page are served by Google:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) supplies the interface font and the Noto fonts used for Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam text. A font file is only fetched when a design first uses that script. Requesting a file reveals your IP address and browser to Google, as any web request does; the content of your design is not part of that request.
- Google AdSense shows the advertising that keeps Apps by V free. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to serve and measure ads, and in some regions you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. You can review and change your ad settings at myadcenter.google.com, and read Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads run in their own frames and cannot read your designs or your local storage.
- Our web host keeps ordinary server logs of page requests (IP address, time, page, browser) for security and diagnostics, as effectively every website does.
Children
OverlayV is a general-purpose design tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Using what you make responsibly
OverlayV provides design templates for mockups, graphics and creative content. You are responsible for ensuring what you create is not used to impersonate individuals, fabricate evidence, misrepresent genuine reviews, or deceive others. Templates in the Reviews category in particular are intended for mockups, presentations and genuine customer feedback.
Changes to this policy
If how OverlayV handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. Since the app has no account and no server, we have no way to notify you directly.
